Gas prices supplied to Turkey from Azerbaijan to rise

27 December 2008 [14:38] - TODAY.AZ
Talks about the sale of Azerbaijani gas, transported by the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzirum gas pipeline, to Turkey, as well as the sale price are underway with official Ankara, said SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev.
According to him, Shah Deniz gas export to Georgia and Turkey will continue.

"Georgia is supplied with 1 mln cubic meters per day, while Turkey 13.6 mln cubic meters. Volumes are expected to rise next year", noted he.

The SOCAR president announced that he does not want to speak of the price, saying it is a commercial secret.

"Yet the price is very low, therefore, we are negotiating with the Turkish government to raise it", said he.
