President of Azerbaijan inaugurates Heydar Aliyev Avenue - PHOTO

The ten-lane road has been widened from 32 metes to 45 meters and in some places to 55 meters. The buildings along the road have been reconstructed in a national architectural style.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the road.
"I see this day and reconstruction of this avenue is a big event. It is worthy of national leader`s name. At the same time, this avenue is a city`s entrance. Two beautiful roads have been constructed from the airport to the city," said the President at the opening ceremony.

"I am sure that all plans scheduled for the future will be implemented with this quality and speed. Great work has been done to improve transport infrastructure of Baku. Much work must be done in the following years as well," the President added.
