Salim Muslimov: "Azerbaijan is second among CIS states for minimal pension"

Before the world financial crisis Azerbaijan was fourth among the CIS states by the level of minimal pension and after the crisis our country is the second by this indicator, said Salim Muslimov, chairman of the state fund of social protection of population.

He said before the crisis Azerbaijan was fourth after Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine.

"Moscow has a CIS association of social funds of Azerbaijan and they regularly release statements regarding situation with pensions in the CIS states. As is reported, the volume of minimal pensions makes $63 against dollar.

In Ukraine due to the decline in course of national currency against dollar the minimal pension fell from $102 to 80, while in Karabakh the level of minimal pensions in dollars is $105.1. In Azerbaijan the minimal pension is $ 93.4 at the cost of consolidation of manat to dollar", said Muslimov.

He noted that even in Latvia the minimal pension is $90. He said pensions in dollars are higher in Lithuania, Estonia and Karabakh than in Azerbaijan among the former USSR states while turning minimal pension into dollars. He said in Armenia minimal pensions make $22.
