Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources: "BTC pipeline has transported 470,000,000 barrels of crude"

Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler, speaking at the conference "Supply of Caspian energy sources to the European markets and alternative energy routes" held in Istanbul under steering support of the World Energy Commission, said the BTC pipeline has transported 470,000,000 barrels of crude as of today.

The Minister noted that in the near future the daily volume of transportation by this pipeline will reach 1,600,000 barrels and transportation of the Karabakh oil will also commence.

Further, Hilmi Guler also stressed the need to undertake real steps and joint actions of all member-states. This project may finish in 2013 and 31 bln cubic meters of natural gas will be pumped every year.
