Heydar Babayev: "Issue of WTO accession is important for support of Azerbaijan's agriculture development"

Day.Az reports with reference to the press service for the Ministry that H.Babayev thanked the US government for permanent attention and support to Azerbaijan in WTO accession.

He informed about the process of our country's WTO accession. He said at the recent session of the work group on Azerbaijan's WTO accession it was decided to prepare a Factual Summary. The document will be prepared by the end of August and then presented to Azerbaijani side.

The session participants stressed significant progress in the process of bilateral talks. Bilateral protocols with Oman and United Arabic Emirates were signed in the framework of the fifth session of the work group. The talks with Kyrzgystan, Georgia and Moldova have ended. The bilateral protocols will be signed with them in the near future.

The next round of talks with the European Union on goods and services is envisioned by the end of 2008. The Minister also noted that issue of WTO accession is important for support of Azerbaijan's agriculture development.

In turn, A.Derse voiced satisfaction with the process on Azerbaijan's WTO membership. She noted that the United States are ready to further provide any assistant to Azerbaijan.
