President Aliyev addresses to 10th Eurasian Economic summit participants

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev addressed to the participants of the 10th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul city of Turkey.

President's press service told APA President Ilham Aliyev wished successes to the summit which is held regularly with assistance of the Marmara Group and Turkish government and emphasized the importance of the summit stressing its role in the development of economic, humanitarian and cultural ties between the nations and regional countries of Eurasia.

President stressed that Azerbaijan is one of the promoters of the establishing global and regional security system with its Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline already functioning for two years and Baku-Tbilisi-Arzurum gas pipeline to transport gas to European markets via Turkey. He said Azerbaijan signed strategic cooperation memorandum in energy security with the European Union.

"Historical Silk Way which connected economical, trade and cultural ties of nations in the past is now successfully being restored with richer form and substance in new conditions. Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia signed an agreement on the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway which is to connect Europe and several states in the far East. These projects will contribute to the commonwealth, security and integration of the international community and regional nations."

At the end President expressed his confidence on the true conclusion and valuable ideas of summit involved states on the current state of cooperation between the economic, energy, human and intellectual resources rich regional countries.
