Refund of Soviet-period bank savings problematic in Azerbaijan

There some problems with refund of soviet-time bank savings and the government commission is working on the issue, Ziyad Samadzade, Chair of Parliament Commission for Economic Policy, stated.

He said that the depositors' paperwork, registration and the transparency of the process arouse great problems, APA reports.

"The mechanism should work in a way that the rights of the depositors are not violated. We have some problems with paperwork and the commission is working on the issue," he noted.

By the preliminary calculation, refund of the savings is worth AZN 700m ($800m).
