Azeri, Turkish and Georgian Transport Ministers to meet in Baku

Next meeting of Turkish, Azerbaijani and Georgian Transport Ministries will be held in Baku in October within the frames of Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tiflis-Baku railway project.

Musa Panahov, the deputy Transport Minister says that establishment of an institution which will conduct the project will be agreed upon during this meeting.

"We offer the discussion of three documents in this meeting. The first document is frame agreement. The second document is connected with choosing of areas for construction of railway. And the third document is credit agreement. As to the financing of the project, construction of the railway part from Georgian border to Kars will be financed by Turkey. According to Musa Panahov the construction will be started next year. And transition of dry goods will be started in 2009. Meanwhile, about 450 million USD is needed for construction of the railway."
