Iranian company participates in Khachmaz power plant

Iranian Sun Energy Company will participate in implementing a power plant project in the Azeri city of Khachmaz situated 160 kms to the north of capital Baku.

According to a report released by the Media Department of Azerbaijan's governmental Azer Energy Company on Monday, Sun Energy Co. is expected to design the lighting system of Khachmaz power plant and offer consulting services.

It added that the proposal of Azer Energy Co. on participation in a similar power plant project in the city of Astara in northern Iran is now being assessed by Sun Energy Co.

Khachmaz power plant project is currently at its final stage and is expected to become operational by late October of the current year.

With the commissioning of Khachmaz Power Plant, as the biggest energy unit in northern Azerbaijan, the country's power generation capacity will increase by 87 megawatts and meet to the area's demand for electricity.
