Meeting of Working Groups on Baki-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Gars project postponed to the end of February

Next meeting of the Working Groups on the Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Gars railway-construction project will be held in Turkey late in February.

As APA informs citing the Head of the Department for Transport coordination and reforms of the Ministry of Transport Javid Najafov, the date of the meeting was changed because the final variant of the project is not ready.

According to the information given by J.Najafov, the final variant of the draft prepared by the Working Groups will be discussed in the meeting: "The infrastructure of the railway, territories the railway will cross through, other technical and financial issues will be reflected in the working draft. The Yuksel Demanij Company of Turkey implementing technical-economic substantiation of the project will also take part in the meeting".

J.Najafov, saying that total cost of the railway project's about $450 million, noted that Azerbaijan could also participate in funding of construction of the railway. The delegation of Azerbaijan will discuss this issue in the meeting.

After the meeting of the Working Groups it's planned to hold the meeting of the ministers of the countries participating in the project.
