Pending official confirmation, Keylor Navas is the latest addition to Real Madrid. 'Los Blancos' reached an agreement with Levante last week to pay the Costa Rican keeper's buy-out clause, amounting to €10 million, of which eight will go to the club and two to the keeper.

The announcement of Navas's signing will come once the club has secured a transfer deal for Diego López, who is heading for the exit door. Rafa Benítez's Napoli and Monaco are the two clubs in the running as potential new destinations for the Galician keeper.

Levante have been forced to sell Keylor Navas because he only has one more season left on his contract, which would make him a free agent as of January, with Levante unable to cash in on any future deal. Prior to the arrival of Real Madrid's offer, several other major European clubs had also expressed an interest in the Costa Rican shot-stopper.

Bayern Munich came the closest to winning Navas' services. Atlético de Madrid and Porto also put in bids for the Levante goalkeeper a while back, but both fell well short of the figure set by the buy-out clause: three million from the Portuguese outfit and five plus a loan deal from Atlético. Arsenal, Monaco and PSG were also pursuing the goalkeeper and had been in touch with his agent, Ricardo Cabañas.
