Cesc Fàbregas
has made it clear that Wednesday's match against Chile "is a matter of
life or death, in which we are going to give it everything and win
because that is the only option that we have got".
"They will go out to pressure us with a very high line and look to
beat us in a very physical game. We have to take advantage of their
weaknesses because it is a game of life or death that we must win,
because if we don't, we know we are going home", Chelsea's new signing
said.
"For us it is vitally important, this group of players can't be
knocked out like that and we will fight and give it everything to the
very last minute", he added.
Fàbregas was also keen for the game to come round as quick as
possible. "You always need some time to analyse the mistakes you have
made so they don't happen again but at the same time for our heads we
need to play again as quickly as possible. In football we are lucky that
every three or four days there is another game and if you have a bad
result you still have the chance to change things", he said.
He also made it clear that Spain have proved to be strong in the past
in the most difficult of circumstances. "This team has courage and the
character to turn things round. This is one of the most complicated
moments we have faced but I have every confidence in this group of
players, we always face up to things and this time will be no different
as we try to get the six points required to go through".
