A ceremony to launch a chess school will take place in the Azerbaijani city of Shamkir on Tuesday which is hosting an international tournament commemorating grandmaster Vugar Hashimov.
The ceremony will be attended by Synergy Group officials, media representatives and Shamkir Chess 2014 tournament participants.
As part of the ceremony rapid world champion Shakhriyar Mammadyarov and blitz world champion Sergey Karyakin will show off their skills on 10 boards simultaneously.
The event will also feature a football tournament involving four teams made of Azerbaijani and foreign chess players, Synergy group employees and journalists.
