The free dance competition has finished on Monday, on the 11th day of the Sochi Olympics.

The competition took place at the Iceberg Skating Palace.

The start number of Azerbaijani sportsmen Julia Zlobina and Alexei Sitnikov was eight. They collected 90.48 points in the competition, which involved twenty pairs. Thus, in aggregate they collected 148.63 points and took 12 place.

U.S. ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White took the first place.

It should be noted that short dances were also won by the U.S. ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who collected 78.89 points.

Canadian ice dancers Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir were second with 76.33 points, while Russian athletes Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov took third place with 73.04 points.

Azerbaijan`s Yulia Zlobina/Aleksei Sitnikov pair has performed short dance in the figure skating event at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

The Azerbaijani couple ranked 14th with 58.15 points among 24 pairs at the Iceberg Skating Palace.

Zlobina/Sitnikov duo will be in action in the freestyle event on February 17.

Americans Meryl Davis/Charlie White won the short dance event with 78.89 points.

Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir couple from Canada ranked second with 76.33 points.

Russia`s Elena Ilinykh/Nikita Katsalapov duo scored 73.04 points to finish third.
