Baku will host European Armwrestling Championships 2014 on May 8-16, AzerTAg reported referring to the German media.
Armwrestling, also known as Bras de fer, is a type of wrestling with two participants. Each athlete places one arm (either the right or left, but both must be the same) on a surface with their elbows bent and touching the surface, grip each other's hand. The goal is to pin the other's arm onto the surface, with the winner's arm over the loser's arm.
Armwrestling is not an Olympic sport, however, fighting on hands is very popular all over the worldwide.
