The Real Madrid talisman resorted to sarcasm to draw out the suspense over whether he'll show up for the upcoming gala ceremony for the Ballon d'Or, which he is currently favourite to win.
Speaking to Radio MARCA manager Paco García Caridad, Cristiano also made a point of thanking Alfredo di Stéfano for presenting him with his namesake award.
Paco García Caridad: The other day – I've got to ask you – the FIFA president made a fool of himself in front of the world by trying to mock a player and only ending up making a mockery of football. Has he tried to call you? If so, did you pick up? Have you spoken to him and are you going to go to the Ballon d'Or gala?
Cristiano Ronaldo: I don't have a phone (laughing). My secretary has one, but I don't… I don't use the phone.
PGC: And no one's put you through to him [Blatter]?
CR7: Nope… That sort of stuff doesn't reach me.
PGC: Are you going to go to Zurich?
CR7: What's most important is to enjoy this MARCA award and thank Di Stéfano, who has made a big effort to come down here to present it to me, which makes me really happy. That's what matters to me.
