Azerbaijani gymnasts achieved great success at the Gracia Cup international tournament, winning 7 medals, including 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze ones.

The Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported that the recent bronze medalist of the World Cup, Marina Durunda, scooped most of the medals at the tournament held in Hungary. Durunda got gold medals in exercises with a hoop and a ribbon, silver in an exercise with a ball, and bronze with clubs.

National team coach Mariana Vasileva said that in the absence of gymnast Lala Yusifova, who sustained an injury shortly before the competition, the burden of the leader was vested in Durunda.

"Having reached all the finals, she did not disappoint us!" Vasileva noted.

Another prize-winning place was taken by the junior team gymnasts, including Gulsum Shafizada, Nilufar Niftaliyeva, Sabina Hummatova, Aleksandra Platonova, Emilya Bagiyeva and Aynur Mustafayeva. They took second place in the final exercise with 5 hoops, next only to the Belarusian team.

In the junior individual performances, the best result was shown by 13-year-old Jala Piriyeva. She became the 4th performing in the elder junior group of gymnasts born in 1998-2000.

Meanwhile, a team of young Azerbaijani gymnasts performed at the Alina-2013 International Festival in Nijnekamsk, Russia upon the invitation of Olympic champion Alina Kabayeva.

The Azerbaijani team consisting of Ayshan Bayramova (born in 1998), sisters Sabina and Samira Alizada, Narmina Huseynova, Zeynab Hummatova, Fatima Bayramova, Jannat Mammadova (all born in 1999), Madina Ahmadova and Simara Jafarova (both born in 2000) performed with the "Anastasiya" composition before the local audience.
