Azerbaijani chess players Fateh Ilmanov, Elmir Humbatov, Talibkhan Talibkhanli, Islam Humbatov and Irada Ahmadova will participate in the “Rilton Open 2012-2013” in Sweden.
The tournament will last from Dec. 28 to Jan. 4 and consists of 7 rounds.
Rilton Cup is Sweden's biggest and most famous international chess tournament. The tournament was initiated by a donation from doctor Tore Rilton and since 1985 the tournament is financially secure. The challenge prize, donated by SEB Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, is a Rilton-medal in genuine gold.
This year the Rilton tournaments will be a part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the 1912 Stockholm Summer Olympics. Every Rilton participant who is present at the prize ceremony will therefore receive a copy of the medal that the Olympic medal winners received in 1912.
