Azerbaijan has declared five non-working days over the New Year holiday and World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. Dec. 31, 2011-Jan. 4, 2012 are non-working days, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Dec. 31 is a non-working day as it is World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. Additionally, Jan. 1-2 will be non-working days over the New Year holiday.

Since Dec.31 and Jan.1 fall on a weekend, Jan. 3-4 will be non-working days. The Cabinet of Ministers will approve the decision soon.

According to the law dated Dec. 30, 2005 on amending the labor code, if a holiday falls on a weekend, then it is automatically transferred to the next working day.
