A draft law restricting smoking is being preparing in the standing commission on social policy of Milli Medjlis, said deputy Musa Guliyev at today's session of Milli Medjlis.
"I think everyone is well aware of the damage, caused by cigarettes to the human body and surrounding people. I think it is now time for Azerbaijan to adopt a law restricting smoking", noted he.
According to the deputy, the due law was adopted by parliaments of most countries of Europe and America.
"The draft law prepared in the standing commission on social policy was sent to the due ministries. The Ministry of public health, justice, youth and sports, culture and tourism gave a positive response about the said document", said Guliyev.
The parliamentarian voiced the proposal to put this draft law, including 7-8 points into the agenda of the spring session of the parliament.
"I think this is a correct proposal. The work at the said draft law is underway and this issue will be considered in the parliament", said Milli Medjlis speaker Oqtay Asadov.
