3,731 crimes, including 514 grave crimes were unfolded in Azerbaijan in 2006.

Chief of Investigation Department of Interior Ministry Emin Shakinski said at the board meeting that 268 gangs were neutralized.

The chief said that police officers of Sabail, Narimanov, Nasimi, Khatai districts, as well as Ganja, Mingachevir, Agsu, Gazakh, Beylegan, Samur, Ujar, Shamkir, Yevlakh regions uncovered 68 crimes.

The department chief said that lack of mutual relations between the services had negative influence on uncovering of crimes.

Shakinski noted that the rate of uncovering of crimes reduced compared with 2005 (from 78.3% to 73%). APA
