07 October 2006 [15:34] - Today.Az
Azerbaijani Education Minister Misir Mardanov presented a group of education employees who were awarded by presidential decree with medals and orders.

He said the people working in the education system will work harder to justify the confidence of the president, APA reports.

"I don't want to criticize the people working in education system. To speak frankly, our education system has lots of shortcomings. Schools had not been provided with equipment and the condition had been bad before. Some 300 new schools were commissioned in Azerbaijan. But, the quality of education has not improved in harmony with the new schools. We have not yet achieved the target we set."
