Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of the Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.
Defendant Eldar Rahimov said he never used police card during committing crimes. Rahimov said it was impossible to leave Haji Mammadov’s gang and if he took such a step, he would have been killed.
Answering the question on the murder of Nazim Pashayev, head of Azermebel Industrial Concern, Eldar Rahimov said they made attempts to get money from his family. The defendant answered question on following of AFFA vice-president Fatullah Huseynov's son Adil Huseynov. "We followed Fatullah's son by Mammadov's order."
The defendant also commented on the murder of criminalist Rovshan Aliyev. "I do not know exactly but I heard Rovshan Aliyev took money from Haji. As Mammadov's name was mentioned in the murder of Azer Ismayilov, department chief of Department to Fight Narcotic Drugs, Rovhan Aliyev made Haji pay him for that."
Rahimov confirmed that Haji Mammadov talked to a senior officer of Baku Main Police Department when they were detained by Post Patrol Service officers. But he said he did not know him. Haji Mammadov called following of Fatullah Huseynov's son nonsense.
Public prosecutor solicited for declaring controversial nuances regarding Eldar Rahimov's testimonies to the investigation and to trial.
