Azerbaijan's Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the 26-member gang led by Haji Mammadov, former high ranking official of Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.

Defense-lawyer for Haji Mammadov's extramarital partner Naila Guliyeva solicited for postponing his defendant's giving testimony. He said she felt bad after yesterday's testimony. Judge Ali Seyfaliyev satisfied the solicitation, APA reports.

Defendant Musa Dabuyev testified upon the trial. Dabuyev said he worked for the security service of deceased president of Ichkeria-Chechen Republic Aslan Mashadov after the first Chechen war in 1994-95. Then he was dismissed for his serious injury.

He came to Baku for treatment and got aquatinted with Haji Mammadov. "I met Ruslan Igushov in Baku and he introduced Haji to me saying he had relation ship with Chechen Shirkhan Albiyev. I agreed to act in concert with them as I was not in suitable condition," he said.

Dabuyev admitted that he was involved into several crimes, including kidnapping of Zamira Hajiyeva, International Bank of Azerbaijan Managing Staff director Jahangir Hajiyev's wife and murder of Rovshan Aliyev, deputy chief of Prosecutor's Office Grave Crimes Investigation Department. He said he did not that kidnapped Ogtay Babayev and Murad Kazimov were officers of prosecutor's office and admitted he got $8-10K for the latter's kidnapping. He got $25-30K for the kidnapping of Majid Mammadov, another officer of prosecutor's office.

Dabuyev also said he spent all the money gained from these crimes to the Chechen war disabled veterans and martyrs' families.

Testifying on the murder of Rovshan Aliyev, deputy chief of Prosecutor’s Office Grave Crimes Investigation Department Musa Dabuyev said Haji Mammadov forced him to kill Rovshan.
