The State Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry strengthened control on the fight against the Bird flu virus, the head of the Veterinary Service Ismail Hasanov told today.

As Trend reports, for laboratory researches totally 54 samples have been sent to London, from which 14 have been analysed and the Bird flu virus was found by 7 samples of wild ducks and swans, picked up on the Caspian shore.

"The dead birds samples from Masalli have not revealed any signs of the virus", he noted.

The Head of the Veterinary Service noted that operative groups, established on the Caspian region where the birds were found, burn them up and conduct preventive works.

"We expect the replies on remaining samples, which are to be produced soon", Hasanov noted.
