About 3500 foreign students from 41 countries study in the high schools of our country at present.

This is 1500 persons more in comparison with 2002 and 100 persons in comparison with 2003.

The education minister Misir Mardanov informed in his explanation to the journalists that more than 3000 young persons finished the secondary schools of Azerbaijan study in the leading universities of the world.

The Education Ministry signed an agreement on collaboration with the education ministries of Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Iran, Austria, Georgia, Romania, Egypt, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Korea, and Pakistan and realizes more than 60 joint projects and programs with the more than 20 international organizations.

As to the regulations on attestation and accreditation of the high and secondary educational enterprises, the minister informed that relevant criterion and demands asserted by the government are prepared and accreditation will be held in 6 high and 4 secondary schools in the current year: “Serious steps were taken in the direction of integration of the high educational system of our country into the European high educational system.

Azerbaijan was accepted to the member of the Bologna process in the next sitting of the education ministers of Europe held in Norway on May 19, 2005”.
