Azerbaijani cookery expert, writer and photographer Stalik Khankishiyev has presented his  books “Kazan, kulinarniy samouchitel” and “Plov, kulinarnoye issledovaniye” in Baku.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the event that took place at “Art Garden” Exhibition Hall, with the organizational support of the Culture and Tourism Ministry. 

First, film director Shamil Najafzadeh’s documentary about the Azerbaijani cuisine was presented.

Later, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev, chairperson of the Azerbaijan Ashygs Union Maharram Gasymly and People’s Writer Chingiz Abdullayev delivered a speech at the event. 

The presentation ceremony ended by a music programme.  

Stalik Khankishiev is a celebrity chef, photographer, and cooking writer born in Uzbekistan. He was born in Fergana in the Uzbek SSR to an Azerbaijani father and a German mother.

The success of Khankishiev's books has been attributed to their high production values and stylish design. Moreover, they have won praise for their depth, including not only recipes, but cultural and philosophical notes, as well as a large number of photos.

His books "Kazan","Pilaf"  and "Bazar, Kazan and dastarkhan" are among the winners of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
