The earthquake occurred in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), the Republican Seismological Service Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan said on July 23.

The earthquake was recorded at 05:17 local time on July 23. The epicenter was 19 kilometers northwest of the city of Nakhchivan, Sharur region, according to the report.

The earthquake magnitude was 3.0. The earthquake epicenter was at a depth of 13 kilometers.

Nakhchivan city is located in the south-east of Azerbaijan, 616 kilometers from Baku.
