Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov has met member of the Islamic Consultative Council (Parliament) and Chairman of the “Iran-Azerbaijan” inter-parliamentary friendship group Ramazanali Sobhanifar to discuss prospects for economic and cultural cooperation.

They also spoke of religious and historical bonds between the two countries.

Sobhanifar recalled the visit of the members of the “Iran-Azerbaijan” inter-parliamentary friendship group to Baku, and invited his Azerbaijani counterparts to Iran.

The Azerbaijani Ambassador hailed the role of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups in developing the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador pointed out that an Azerbaijani delegation, led by speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov and including members of the inter-parliamentary friendship group, will visit Tehran to attend the 9th OIC Parliament Speakers Meeting.
