The weather will deteriorate in Azerbaijan from Feb. 7.  Snow and strong winds are expected in Baku and Absheron peninsula, Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry's National Hydrometeorological Department official Umayra Tagiyeva told Trend.

“The temperature will fall to 0- -3 C at night and in the daytime, -5 C in the evening. The roads will freeze,” she said.

Tagiyeva said the weather will deteriorate on Feb. 8. It will be frosty, north-west wind will blow. It will snow, snowstorm is expected. “The temperature will fall to -6- -10 C. On Feb.8, the temperature will be -3- -5 C. the roads will freeze,” she said. The snowfall will gradually stop, the wind will grow milder on Feb. 9.

The lowest temperature in the coming days is expected in the evening of Feb.7 to Feb.8.  Based on the 110-year meteorological observations, the last time Baku faced the freezing cold in February 1969 –  - 10.
