Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi clarified the issue of appointing Mohammed Sharif Malikzadeh as Deputy Foreign Minister on financial issues. "Malikzadeh was not appointed on my recommendation," Salehi was quoted by Iranian news agency FARS as saying.

"The ministry is occupied by people committing acts of sabotage," Salehi said.
Salehi said this during a conversation with one of the country's political leaders. "The subversive forces began to get their hands on the ministry by appointing Malikzadeh," he added. "I am not empowered to make decisions there."

Ayatollah Khamenei's supporters accuse some senior officials among President Ahmadinejad's entourage in Iran, including the head of the Iranian Presidential Administration Isfandiyar Rahim Mashai of "subversive activities". They claimed that the perpetrators of these acts want to remove the supreme spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei from the policy. Khamenei's supporters accuse some individuals among the president's entourage, including some MPs, of corruption.

"As I am not competent to make decisions at the ministry, it would be better if the parliament declares me impeachment," Salehi said.

Several members of the Iranian parliament have already signed a document declaring the impeachment of Salehi. The main reason for this was the appointment of Mohammed Sharif Malikzadeh as Deputy Foreign Minister on financial issues. According to MPs, Salehi must clarify some moments.

The MPs think that Malikzadeh is suspected of corruption and other violations of law.
