18 February 2010 [17:15] - Today.Az
Michael Jensen, head of Denmark's delegation to PACE, said the international community wants Russia to comply with obligations in regard to Georgia, and therefore pressure on Russia must be increased.
The statement was voiced in Georgian Parliament on Feb. 17.
He added he personally participates in consideration of Georgian-Russian relations and was supporter of depriving Russia of membership in the Council of Europe, as it failed to comply with the demands, implied by the agreements.
Jensen claimed his visit to Tbilisi only confirmed his position was right and added he had been to Russia and learned position of its government prior to visit to Georgia.
The delegation chairman said he did not believe in delicate diplomatic influence on Russia and saw decisive measures as necessary.
In the course of the visit the delegation held meetings with representatives of legislative and executive branches of power, opposition, refugees and visited Gori, Tserovani, and South Ossetia.
