Abkhazia expects recognition of its independence simultaneously from several countries of the Pacific Ocean in 2010, the so-called Foreign Minister of the self-declared regime said.
"After Nauru, a number of countries are ready to consider our recognition," Sergei Shamba said.
He confirmed that the Nauruan Foreign Minister will use his own influence and help Abkhazia to gain international recognition.
Shamba also said Sukhumi sees prospect of its recognition by several countries of Latin America as well.
He also asserted that the European Union is changing its position towards the separatist regime step by step.
