Georgia is in better position than might be after August war: Minister

Today Georgia is in better state than might have been after the August war with Russia, Georgian Reintegration Minister Temur Yakobashvili told journalists before the Cabinet's today's meeting. He said this assessing the situation in the country.

"2010 will be a turning point for Georgia and its occupation, as the whole world has already saw the true face of Russia," he said. "Therefore, the deoccupation  process should continue actively."

The minister also noted that Georgia was able to leave behind a lot of problems, including the activity of the opposition. "The authorities managed to withstand the massive protests and everything went without the government's resignation for the first time in post-Soviet period,"  he said.
