The number of divorced women hit six million in Iran, Iran's Civil Court Chairman Javad Sadigi was quoted as saying by the Iranian Mehr news agency.
"The family should be the focus of love and affection," he said at the meeting of the Consultative Council. "However, unfortunately in our country foundation of the family quickly falter and weaken for various reasons."
Sadighi offered to prepare the country's strategic program to solve this problem.
