Kazakhstan’s airline SCAT has signed a contract for the purchase of the six aircraft of the latest generation with American Boeing, according to the press service of the air company.

"The conclusion of this contract is particularly significant for the company in the year of its 20th anniversary. Buying a Boeing 737 MAX 8 SCAT will not only raise the level of service, but will also give a new impetus to the development of the aviation industry of Kazakhstan," CEO of the company Vladimir Denisov said.

In addition to expanding the airline's route network, the deal will also provide all its passengers with a new level of air transportation, based on new technical equipment, flight speed, Wi-Fi function and convenience of the salon, the official statement said.

Moreover, the interior of each aircraft will be developed taking into account the personal wishes of the customer. All planes will be delivered directly from the manufacturer.

The contract also provides for the right to purchase additional five aircraft of the same type.

Since the beginning of the year SCAT airline has transported more than 1.6 million passengers, showing an increase in passenger traffic of more than 46 percent, compared with the indicators of the previous year.

There are 92 air routes with the length of more than 84,000 kilometers over the territory of Kazakhstan while 73 air corridors pass on the border with neighboring countries. As many as 80 percent of the air transit traffic of foreign airlines over the territory of Kazakhstan pass through routes connecting Europe with South-East Asia as well as routes between South Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Kazakhstan has airports in Shimkent, Atbasar, Karaganda, Kyzyl-Orda, Balkhash, Burundai, Zaisan, Petropavlovsk, Semipalatinsk, Ust-kamenogorsk, Uralsk, Taldy-Kurgan, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, Zhezkazgan, Atyrau, Zhambyl, Zhairem, Ekibastuz, Almaty, Aktau, Kostanay, Aktyubinsk, Arkalyk, and Astana cities.

Kazakhstan's existing airlines are Air Astana, Air Company MEGA, Avia Jaynar, Bek Air, Berkut Air, Euro-Asia Air, Excellent Glide, Irtysh-Air, SCAT, Semeyavia, Zhetysu, and Zhezkazgan Air.
