Turkey’s Air Force inflicted air strikes on militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist group as they were trying to cross into Turkey from Iraq, and neutralized two of them as a result.

The PKK militants were crossing the two countries’ border near the city of Cukurca in Turkey’s Hakkari province, Sabah newspaper reported on September 15.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 33 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.

The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
