A petrochemical complex in Iran hit by fire last night, Iran's Mehr news agency reported May 21.

The incident took place at the CTA unit of the Shahid Tondgooian Petrochemical complex, in south western province of Khuzestan.

No one was hurt in the incident, however financial loses are reportedly huge.

The cause of the incident was not immediately clear.

Shahid Tondgooian complex, produces various petrochemicals, including purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

The complex is the largest manufacturer of textile grades in Iran.
