The tension between the ordinary citizens, who oppose against the constitutional reforms and the police, trying to force people fall silence, is still on the agenda.

The fight between the supporters of National Salvation Front New Armenia and the police took place on the Freedom Square in Yerevan on December 29.

People failed in their attempt to stick the poster titled “New Armenia” on the building of the National Academy of opera and ballet named after Spendiarov.

Moreover, the police reaction caused a mass fight between supporters of two different barricades.

Several members of the organization are still standing in front of the building, holding the posters.

Currently, the situation is controlled by the Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valery Osipyan and numerous police officers. In other words, the government suppresses any attempt to voice against the current ruling system.

The referendum on constitutional reform in Armenia was held on December 6. Draft amendments to the Basic Law provide for the country's transition to a parliamentary system of government.

People express their distrust about the results of voting and demanding to recognize them as invalid.
