/By AzerNews/ By Laman Sadigova The rally against the constitutional amendments, that the Armenian government plans to hold in the nearest future, is gaining momentum. Today the participants of the New Armenia Public Salvation Front marched to the Central Electoral Commission to demand resignation of President Serzh Sargsyan and CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan. The police has surrounded the CEC building entirely in several rows with shields. The march organized by New Armenia was controlled by a large number of police forces. The march ended in Yerevan’s Liberty Square, whilst the protesters claimed about the around-the-clock sit-in in Yerevan. The referendum on constitutional amendments will take place on December 6. However, the Armenian citizens have no trust in authorities and accuse them in the falsification of the future votes. The study of voters lists revealed a list of inaccuracies. The search found 218 similar names, surnames, patronymic of citizens with identical dates of birth, while 37,339 voters did not have exact personal data. The Armenian National Assembly approved the controversial constitutional reforms on October 5 without giving any social and political grounds, even after several months of intense debate and political protests against the reforms. The main concern of the opposition is that the constitutional changes are being made in order to keep President Serzh Sargsyan in power after his second and final term that expires in 2018.
