Traffic restrictions have been imposed in some sections of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars highway on the Georgian-Russian border due to snowfall and icy road conditions. The Georgian highways department told Trend that in particular, movement of trailer, semi-trailer vehicles and buses with a capacity of more than 30 seats is prohibited along the Aragvispiri-Lars section of the road.

Movement of other vehicles is allowed on the section from Aragvispiri to Gidauri and from Kobi to Lars only by using special chains.

Movement is free for vehicles with two or more transmitting bridges.
