Azerbaijan`s foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov yesterday met chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) Volkan Bozkir.
Bozkir praised the Azerbaijan-Turkey relations.
He congratulated the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister on his country`s election to the UN Security Council.Mammadyarov said as a member of the UN Security Council Azerbaijan will make every effort to be closely involved in settling global and regional issues.
Regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov stressed the necessity of forcing Armenia to withdraw from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands.
Bozkir expressed hope the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will soon be peacefully solved.
He said the Armenia-Turkey borders cannot open until the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is resolved. They also discussed a range of regional and international issues.
