First Lady of Austria Margit Fischer yesterday visited newly built synagogue in Azerbaijan`s capital.
The guest was welcomed by Chairman of mountain Jews community in Azerbaijan Semen Ihiilov.
Ihiilov updated the Austrian First Lady on activity of the community, construction of new Jewish church-house and conditions created for them.
It was stressed that Mountain Jews settled not only in Baku, but also in a number of Azerbaijani regions and as other religious confessions, they also peacefully coexisting in the country as a family.
It was also noted that all conditions have been created in Azerbaijan for Jews to pray and to protect their national traditions and customs, new synagogue in Baku is a vivid evidence of it.
The sides exchanged keepsakes.
