32 members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe have adopted a written declaration on recognition of the separatist regime in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan – “Nagorno Karabakh Republic” as an independent country. The signatories called the members of the Council of Europe to establish close cooperation with the “legally-elected administration of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic”. The document reads that “Nagorno Karabakh Republic declared independence approximately at the same time with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, which have been members of the Council of Europe for 10 years now, while NKR is not a member of this organization”.
