President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Switzerland`s Vice-President, head of the Federal Department of Finance Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf. The Head of State underlined Azerbaijan-Switzerland relations are successfully developing. The Head of State described high-level reciprocal visits as an indicator of political relations between the two countries. The Azerbaijani leader highlighted the importance of Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf`s visit, adding it would be successful for expansion of bilateral ties.
Switzerland`s Vice-President congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the 20th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s regaining its independence. She underscored the importance of the fact that both countries established diplomatic relationship 20 years ago. She recalled President Ilham Aliyev`s official visit to Switzerland his participation in the Davos Economic Forum
The meeting also discussed prospects for development of Azerbaijan-Switzerland relations.
