A series of events dedicated to Lithuania's the Independence Day are underway in Baku.

Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Irena Degutiene's official visit to Baku on Feb. 8 will be marked by the launch of a series of events dedicated to Independence Day, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Kudzmanas told Trend on Monday.

Degutiene's visit will last until Feb. 10. She plans to hold a series of meetings with Azerbaijani officials.

During the visit, an Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum will be held on Feb. 9, and a concert dedicated to Independence Day will be held at the Azerbaijani State Philharmonic Hall on Feb. 10. Lithuanian pianist Muza Rubackytė will also perform in the concert together with the Azerbaijani Chamber Orchestra.

"I am very pleased to offer Rubackytė's performance to the Baku audience. I think this concert will be the best gift for those who will celebrate our national holiday together with us," Kudzmanas said.

On the same day, the Azerbaijani State Philharmonic Hall will host an exhibition dedicated to renowned Lithuanian artist M. K. Čiurlionis.
