Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has met Swiss ambassador Sabine Ulmann Shaban.
Suleymanova briefed the ambassador on Ombudsman Institute`s activities to ensure and protect human rights in the country.
She said the Ombudsman Institute had established productive cooperation with the Swiss Embassy on human rights.
She also expressed hope bilateral relations would be useful in the future.
Suleymanova underlined the necessity of determination of general priorities for cooperation.
The Ombudsperson said along with government bodies and NGOs, she attaches importance to international cooperation.
She added the Ombudsman Institute of Azerbaijan was a member of the International and European Ombudsman Institutes and Asian Association of Ombudsman.
Sabine Ulmann Shaban, in turn, underlined the importance of holding discussions with the Azerbaijani Ombudsperson on protection of human rights and freedoms.
