Bahar Muradova, Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, has proposed amending the Law on Political Parties.
The law does not meet the requirements of the time. Taking into account the new realities emerged after the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, it is necessary to revise it, Muradova said at a parliamentary meeting today.
"We have the necessary capabilities. There were enough proposals for amending the Azerbaijani law "Political parties" over that period. One can develop a new serious bill on the basis of these proposals," Muradova said.
The law "Political parties" was adopted in Azerbaijan in 1992. At present, the issue of making amendments and additions is in the agenda. The relevant proposals were put forward repeatedly. In particular, the issue on reasonability of financing the parties from the state budget was raised.
