A Mercedes car (state number 10 LS 664) collided with BMW X5 (1910 TL 049) at the highway between the airport and the settlement of Mardakan at 00.40 a.m. today, Jamshid Hanifayev, Baku's State Administration of Traffic Police public affairs department head said.
He said that the driver of a Mercedes car Yashar Abidov died as a result of the collision. BMW X5 car burst into flame. A 26-year-old driver of BMW, Agsurov Ayaz a native of Nakhchivan, was burned along with another passenger. According to the preliminary data, the cause of the accident was speeding.
