Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on an official visit on October 5.
As part of his trip to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Gamigaya stone products complex here.
President Ilham Aliyev saw samples of raw materials, toured production sections and become familiar with the goods produced by the enterprise. The Head of State also attended a ceremony of opening a water-distribution facility, which is a part of the water supply system of the city of Nakhchivan. Azerbaijani leader saw a general layout of Nakhchivan water and sanitation network, and water supply system, and launched the facility.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Bilav Hydroelectric Power Station here. The Head of State first viewed a regulating dam and pond.
The construction of the station began in March 2009. The station is built on the GIlanchay River. The President then visited the territory where the station`s building is located. Aliyev saw a model and photographs of the station. The building of the station has been provided with the cutting-edge equipment.
Two turbines made by the Austrian company and two generators were installed here.
A 20-km road running to the village of BIlav was repaired during construction of the station.
The Head of State launched the plant.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchvian Autonomous Republic Vasif Talybov told of the projects being implemented in the Republic and social economic development. President Ilham Aliyev addressed the ceremony.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended an opening of the Nakhchivan Regional Information Center for the physically handicapped persons established with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The Head of State cut a ribbon and toured the center. The aim of creating the center is to provide IT education to the handicapped including visually impaired kids.
The center is a project co-implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and UNDP.
The center houses a movie theater, meeting room, computer training room with Braille monitors and library with Braille books. There is an audio studio in the center, which allows to publish audio books.
The center has a total area of 860 sq. meters. The greening work around the center was carried out. The similar center was established in Ganja as well.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited a new Heydarabad settlement here. The settlement has necessary infrastructure. New houses were built in the settlement for the residents. The total area of two-storey houses is 1,000 sq. meters. The facilities include telephone, gas, electricity and water. The land around houses was improved with green area expanded and roads paved with asphalt.
President Ilham Aliyev saw a photo stand depicting construction process in the settlement.
The Head of State familiarized with the facilities. President Ilham Aliyev talked to the general public. Residents thanked the Head of State for the care and attention.

President Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated a central hospital here. The Head of State cut a ribbon and toured building. The hospital with a total floor space of 11,700 sq. meters was built to the modern standards. The three-storey hospital has 26 beds. It employs 29 doctors and 34 nurses.
There are in-patient, out-patient and intensive care units at the hospital. The facilities here also include pediatrics, surgery, gynecology departments as well as drug store, UHF etc.
The staff of the hospital thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care and attention. The Head of State expressed satisfaction with the conditions created here and wished every success to doctors.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated a new building of a secondary school in the Makhta village in the Sharur region. The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school and viewed the facility. The school, named after National Hero Ali Jamalov, has 30 classrooms.
The Heydar Aliyev corner was launched in the school's library. The state-of-the-art school has two computer rooms which feature 19 computers. The Head of State praised the reconstruction work at the school. The teachers thanked President Ilham Aliyev for care and attention.

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has visited a military unit in Sadarak.
Chairman of the Nakhchivan garrison, Karam Mustafayev, reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The Head of State viewed a frontline camp of the unit. The President inspected the contact line from a surveillance center.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended today the opening of a new building of No. 2 secondary school in Sadarak.
The President was welcomed here by the school's staff. President cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the facility. The Head of State was informed that the school had 33 classrooms.
The school enrolls 511 students who are served by 32 teachers. The President was told that all schools in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic had Internet access. The Head of State congratulated the school's staff. The teachers thanked President for care and attention.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has opened the Nakhchivan-Sadarak highway, one of the strategic facilities in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The President was told the construction of the highway, which is the only road linking Azerbaijan with Turkey, started in 2008. The four-lane facility is 81,95 km in length and 23 meters in width. The construction was carried out by local Gamigaya company. The highway is part of the Great Silk Road. The President tested the road with his car.

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has today attended the opening of a Yengija secondary school in Sharur region. The Head of State was welcomed here by the school`s teachers and students.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school. The President was informed that more than 130-year old building was last repaired in 1986. The school enrolls 306 students who are served by 45 teachers. Each classroom of the state-of-the-art school has 19 computers which have Internet access. The Heydar Aliyev corner was launched in the school's library.
The Head of State praised the reconstruction work at the school. Local residents thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care and attention.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Kangarli region as part of his visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Large-scaled construction and land improvement work has been done in the area where the monument is located. The Head of State congratulated local residents. They thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the care and attention.

President Aliyev laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan. Socio-economic development is underway in the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan like in Azerbaijan's other regions.
During the 8 months of 2010, Nakhcivan's Gross Domestic Product saw a 25.5%-increase in comparison with the previous year, making AZN772 million. The industrial production in the Autonomous Republic made AZN213 million in the first 8 months of the year.
Nakhcivan's trade has made over AZN125.5 million since the beginning of the year. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation-supported projects have been making tremendous contributions to developing education, healthcare and culture in the Autonomous Republic.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today arrived in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. A guard of honor was lined up in honor of the Azerbaijan leader in the Nakhchivan international airport.
The Head of State was welcomed by chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic's Supreme Assembly, Vasif Talıbov. Azerbaijani President met with members of the Autonomous Republic's Government.
